How Louise can help you

Louise’s greatest passions are XERO and IR35. She carries out data conversions for Meades & Company clients moving over to XERO from their existing accounting system and trains them on the new software. With regard to IR35, Louise keeps a close eye on the ever changing rules in this specialist area and posts advice for clients and prospects on the Meades Contractors website.

Louise’s background

Louise finished 6th form college in 1993 and joined accountancy firm Stoy Hayward as a trainee ACCA accountant. She started her professional exams in June 1994 and passed her final exam in June 1997 – she was admitted to membership later that year.

In the summer of 1998, she joined Tottenham Hotspur PLC as their Financial Accountant. Just over a year later, she joined Holmes Place as their Finance Manager. In early 2000, Louise made the decision to return to practice and secured a role at a small north London practice as PA to one of the partners.

After having her second child at the start of 2003, Louise combined part time freelance work for a local magazine company as their bookkeeper and accountant with looking after her young family.

In April 2009, Louise joined SJD Accountancy as a Client Manager for the Central Team. She looked after a team of 4, covering all aspects of accountancy from personal tax, to year end accounts, contract reviews and the taking on of new clients.

Louise joined Meades in July 2009 as a Client Manager and dealt with bookkeeping, VAT returns, personal tax, P11d’s, management accounts and year end accounts for a portfolio of clients.

In 2010, Louise and Paul set up a new business – Meades Contractors. Louise looked after all the accountancy requirements of the contractor clients as well as bringing new clients on board. Louise grew this business from 11 to 160 clients in 2015. Meades Contractors now has 7 team members and is headed up by Yasmin Mohidin (who Louise trained at SJD).

In 2014, Louise was appointed as a Director of Meades & Company Limited. She now looks after the internal systems of both Meades & Company and Meades Contractors. This includes training, writing and presenting PowerPoint slide shows for both team members and (potential) clients, writing internal procedures, interviewing potential team members, technical research, quality control reviews and maintenance of our relationships with both the ACCA and the ICAEW.

In addition to her ACCA qualification, Louise is a XERO certified advisor and an IPSE Accredited Accountant.

Louise is married to Stuart – they have 3 children and a dog named Dave. Louise spends most of her spare time with her husband and children, socialising with friends and family and eating out. She has travelled to both Australia and Washington DC in recent years to visit extended family.

Louise is an avid George Michael fan – so much so that she named her youngest son after him and has a tattoo of the Faith album logo on her left wrist!
