Every BODY is Beautiful.
If you haven’t heard of the Victoria’s Secret Angels, they’re quite possibly the world’s most gorgeous tall models with sky-high legs and stilettos to match and of course all with toned, trim, tanned bodies (completely unrealistic and unattainable, unless your full time job is going to the gym and being able to afford regular spa treatments.)
If you’re like the other 99% of women, then your body is beautiful – not flawless. Victoria’s Secret’s domination of the lingerie industry, with their multi-million dollar shows and supermodel ‘angels’, can be pretty depressing.
American Lingerie Company Lane Bryant are aiming to “redefine sexy” and have launched a campaign that rivals the controversial Victoria’s Secret ‘perfect body’ lingerie adverts by using curvy women in their ads with the slogan “I’m no angel”.
Have a look at the campaign for yourself here:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/11519041/Victorias-Secret-These-lingerie-firms-think-every-body-is-beautiful.html
There’s an important message to be learned here. Lane Bryant didn’t care that they weren’t going to appeal to everyone. They weren’t interested that some people may not be attracted to their ads or find them appealing. And they were right to not appeal to the masses.
After all, there’s no money in the middle. If you try to appeal to everyone, you’ll end up appealing to no one.
